Its research and advanced training activities focus on economic development, internationalization of firms, public policies and European integration.<br \/>\nThis year the Centre will hold its fourth annual \u201cSchool for Advanced Training in Public Policy Impact Evaluation. Concepts, Methods, Applications.\u201d<br \/>\nThe organizing committee includes Mara Giua, Anna Giunta, Guido Pellegrini and Luca Salvatici.<br \/>\nThe School will be held online.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TARGET AND OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>The School is designed for government officers, administrators, private professionals, researchers and doctoral students with an interest in public policy assessment. The objective is to provide participants with the skills for an overall policy assessment, by going through the techniques in close association with the specific context of the policies analysed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>APPROACH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With reference to the territorial, industrial and commercial policies and programs, the School\u2019s didactic curriculum relies on three pillars:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CONCEPTS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The definitory elements of the policy (for instance, policy maker\u2019s objectives, program beneficiaries, contextual factors) and how they can be identified.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>METHODS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The tools to assess the policy\u2019s impact. How to select the most suitable for the specific context and how to apply it.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The practice of the policy\u2019s impact evaluation. How to carry out the assessment exercise, useful data sources, software and main statistics packages.<\/p>\n<p>Each module comprises both classroom lectures (Concepts, Methods) and laboratory exercises (Applications).
