The following institutions:
\n\u2022 AIEAA \u2013 Italian Association of Agricultural and Applied Economics
\n\u2022 Manlio Rossi-Doria Centre for Economic and Social Research (Roma Tre University)
\n\u2022 Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (University of California at Davis)
\n\u2022 Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance \u201cGiovanni Anania\u201d (University of Calabria)
\nhereby establish a scholarship in memory of Giovanni Anania.<\/p>\n

The scholarship shall be awarded to a student enrolled in the first or second year of an Italian\u00a0doctoral program (the 2017 edition is for students enrolled in the 31th and 32nd doctoral cycles)\u00a0with a research project in one of the following fields:
\n\u2022 international trade,
\n\u2022 international negotiations and agreements on market liberalization,
\n\u2022 sectoral and trade policies in the agri-food sector.<\/p>\n

The scholarship is in the amount of \u20ac5,000.00 and shall serve to help cover the expenses of a\u00a0stay of a minimum of four months, tuition-free, at the Department of Agricultural and Resource\u00a0Economics of the University of California at Davis (United States), with the right to attend\u00a0educational activities and seminars organized by the Department. The time spent at UC Davis is a\u00a0minimum of 4 months, preferably in the Fall term 2017-2018 and, in any case, not after Spring\u00a02018. Thanks to the International Agricultural Trade Consortium (IATRC), the winner can also\u00a0attend the IATRC\u2019s Annual December Meeting free of charge.
\nThe selection shall be made by a committee of 3 members designated by the institutions that have\u00a0sponsored the scholarship.
\nThe applications will be evaluated on the basis of a research project whose academic objectives\u00a0and methodologies must be clearly specified. The description of the project, written in English,\u00a0must not be longer than 15,000 characters. In case of research projects receiving equal\u00a0evaluations, preference shall go to candidates born in the region of Calabria.<\/p>\n

The deadline for the 2017 Call for Applications is April 30th.<\/strong> By this date, applications must have\u00a0been transmitted to centro.rossidoria@uniroma3.it accompanied by:
\n\u2022 research project description
\n\u2022 copy of an identity document
\n\u2022 certificate of registration at the doctoral cycle
\n\u2022 letter of recommendation from the doctoral program supervisor or coordinator.<\/p>\n

The results of the evaluation procedure will be communicated to candidates by May 15th 2017.<\/strong>
\nThe winner shall commit to carrying out the program described in the Call \u2013 whose details will be\u00a0agreed with the participating institutions \u2013 under penalty of revocation of the award and of the
\nrelated benefits. At the end of the period, the beneficiary will write a summary (in English) of the\u00a0activities done. Publications resulting from research activities carried on, entirely or partially, at
\nUniversity of California should acknowledge the grant received.<\/p>\n
