The research project How can the EU Cohesion Policy help persistently under-performing regions? by Mara Giua (Department of Economics and Rossi-Doria Centre, Roma Tre University) is one of the winners of the 2016 competition of the European Commission Best Evaluation Proposals on the effectiveness of operations co-financed by Structural or Cohesion Funds. The project has been awarded by the European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu during the 7th European Evaluation Conference The result orientation: Cohesion Policy at Work (Sofia, 16-17th June 2016)

On July 15th 2015 our friend and colleague professor Giovanni Anania suddenly passed away. Giovanni Anania was Full Professor at the University of Calabria (Italy), President of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAEE) and one of the founders of the Associazione Italiana di Economia Agraria e Applicata (AIEAA) His scientific commitment was directly inspired to the scientific, political and cultural heritage of Manlio Rossi-Doria since he earned a post-graduate diploma from the Portici Center.
